In the vicinity of Aux Rives du Soleil campsite there are several villages and towns that are definitely worth a visit.
Tournus
12 km - A town full of picturesque alleys with old houses. You can discover several tourist attractions during a walk around the abbey. Tournus is located on the banks of the Saône. A combination with a visit to the nearby La Truchère nature reserve (famous for its frogs) is well worthwhile.
Mâcon
17 km - Mâcon, located on the right bank of the Saône, is the main city of the Mâconnais wine region. There are many vineyards, wineries and wine museums around Mâcon. But it is also fun to visit the city itself.
Cluny
26 km - The Benedictine monastery of Cluny was founded in 910 and became the centre of a powerful monastic reform movement in the Middle Ages. Discover the rich heritage of Cluny, its beautiful surroundings and don't forget to taste the artisanal local products while visiting this town.
Chalon-sur-Saône
41 km - Chalon-sur-Saône is located on the river Saône. The city is also known as 'Ville d'Art et d'Histoire'. This is reflected in the many tourist attractions and the three museums located in the city. Every year, at the end of July, Chalon-sur-Saône is the setting for one of France's biggest street theatre festivals for five days.
Beaune
70 km - Beaune is Burgundy's most famous. The city owes this mainly to the historic infirmary Hôtel-Dieu (also called Hospice) the region's main tourist attraction. The heart of Burgundy when it comes to wine. The world-famous wine festival takes place here in November.
Lyon
91 km - Lyon is one of France's largest cities, located where the rivers Rhône and Saône meet. The city has a rich history and was once the capital of Roman Gaul. Many remnants of this can still be found in the city. Lyon is also known as the capital of gastronomy (chef Paul Bocuse).
Dijon
110 km - The city in which Gustave Eiffel, the designer of the Eiffel Tower, was born in 1832 has become particularly famous for the mustard made in this city. During a day in Dijon, you can discover several historical sights scattered through the characteristic city centre.
